Caves Caravan Park’s damper recipe
We regularly hold damper cook-up evenings at our camp kitchen so we thought we’d share our favourite simple recipe that is child friendly and easy to follow. The hard part is choosing what secret ingredient you will add.
Damper is typically cooked as one big loaf in a camp oven buried in coals but we found the small rolls of damper wrapped in alfoil worked well because of the large crowds. It allowed each child to have fun making their own creation and add special ingredients like nutella or rosemary! And with a shorter cooking time people were able to enjoy the warm tasty bread sooner.
